When Wendell was a child, he knew his purpose in life and that was to make music. During the years of eleven through nineteen, Wendell spent his summer vacations in the presence of his brother-in-law, Gene Lyons, who played bass guitar in a band with Dennis Edwards on organ and lead vocals.

However, it wasn’t until July 9, 1968 when Dennis Edwards joined the Temptations, replacing the legendary, David Ruffin as lead vocalist, that he became inspired to pursue a career in the music industry as a writer and a singer. Still to this day Wendell pro- claimes Dennis Edwards and Gene Lyons, as his inspirations.
